The Dog Owners Club is owned and run by Robert Alleyne.

Animals have constantly played a major role in the life of Robert Alleyne. But like so many people, he was bitten by the dog training bug as soon as he joined his first pet class in 1981. By 1984, he was competing successfully at dog obedience shows, and going to dog training classes four-five nights a week. By 1985 he was running his own dog training club.

He worked as an Animal Welfare Officer for the London Borough of Lewisham from 1990 to 2006, where he became the senior officer and acquired vast experience in dealing with a variety of animals and their owners. However, it is his uncanny understanding of dogs that makes him exceptional in his chosen field.

He has made numerous appearances on radio and television programmes, including the BBC series, Dog Borstal.

When recently interviewed for a local newspaper, Robert stated:

"People with dogs are becoming more and more responsible and aware of the dangers of having a dog with behavioural problems, or just generally having a dog that is not trained properly to live peaceably in our society. Seeking the right help can make all the difference to many people's lives, and brings back the pleasure of owning a dog."
